These devices contain six independent inverting buffers. Theyperform the Boolean function Y = A\. The open-collector outputsrequire pullup resistors to perform correctly. These outputs can beconnected to other open-collector outputs to implement active-lowwired-OR or active-high wired-AND functions. Open-collector devicesare often used to generate higher V_OH levels.

The SN54ALS1005 is characterized for operation over the fullmilitary temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. TheSN74ALS1005 is characterized for operation from 0°C to70°C.
