These octal bus transceivers are designed specifically forlow-voltage (3.3-V) VCC operation, but with the capabilityto provide a TTL interface to a 5-V system environment.
These devices are designed for asynchronous communication betweendata buses. They transmit data from the A bus to the B bus or fromthe B bus to the A bus, depending upon the logic level at thedirection-control (DIR) input. The output-enable () input can be used to disable thedevices so the buses are effectively isolated.
Active bus-hold circuitry is provided to hold unused or floatingdata inputs at a valid logic level.
The SN74LVTZ245 is available in TI's shrink small-outline package(DB), which provides the same I/O pin count and functionality ofstandard small-outline packages in less than half theprinted-circuit-board area.
The SN54LVTZ245 is characterized for operation over the fullmilitary temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. TheSN74LVTZ245 is characterized for operation from -40°C to85°C.
