The 'ABTE16245 are 16-bit (dual-octal) noninverting 3-statetransceivers designed for synchronous two-way communication betweendata buses. The control-function implementation minimizes externaltiming requirements. These devices can be used as two 8-bittransceivers or one 16-bit transceiver. They allow data transmissionfrom the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, dependingon the logic level at the direction-control (DIR) input. Theoutput-enable (
) input can beused to disable the device so that the buses are effectivelyisolated. When
is low, thedevice is active.
The B port has a 25-
series output resistor to reduce ringing. Active bus-hold inputs arealso found on the B port to hold unused or floating inputs at a validlogic level.
The A port provides for the precharging of the outputs viaVCCBIAS, which establishes a voltage between 1.3 V and 1.7V when VCC is not connected.
The SN74ABTE16245 is available in TI's shrink small-outlinepackage (DL), which provides twice the I/O pin count andfunctionality of standard small-outline packages in the sameprinted-circuit-board area.
The SN54ABTE16245 is characterized for operation over the fullmilitary temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. TheSN74ABTE16245 is characterized for operation from -40°C to85°C.
