description

The SN54ABT16240 and SN74ABT16240A are 16-bit buffers and linedrivers designed specifically to improve both the performance anddensity of 3-state memory address drivers, clock drivers, andbus-oriented receivers and transmitters.

These devices can be used as four 4-bit buffers, two 8-bitbuffers, or one 16-bit buffer. These devices provide invertingoutputs and symmetrical active-low output-enable () inputs.

To ensure the high-impedance state during power up or power down, should be tiedto VCC through a pullup resistor; the minimum value of theresistor is determined by the current-sinking capability of thedriver.

The SN54ABT16240 is characterized for operation over the fullmilitary temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. TheSN74ABT16240A is characterized for operation from -40°C to85°C.
