SCBS050B - MAY 1990 - REVISED APRIL 1994
These devices consist of bus transceiver circuits with 3-stateoutputs, D-type flip-flops, and control circuitry arranged formultiplexed transmission of data directly from the input bus or fromthe internal registers. Data on the A or B bus will be clocked intothe registers on the low-to-high transition of the appropriate clock(CLKAB or CLKBA) input. Figure 1 illustrates the four fundamentalbus-management functions that can be performed with the ´BCT648.
Output-enable (
) anddirection-control (DIR) inputs are provided to control thetransceiver functions. In the transceiver mode, data present at thehigh-impedance port may be stored in either register or in both. Theselect control (SAB and SBA) can multiplex stored and real-time(transparent mode) data. The direction control determines which buswill receive data when
isactive (low). In the isolation mode (
high), A data may be stored in one register and/or Bdata may be stored in the other register.
When an output function is disabled, the input function is stillenabled and may be used to store and transmit data. Only one of thetwo buses, A or B, may be driven at a time.
The SN54BCT648 is characterized for operation over the fullmilitary temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. TheSN74BCT648 is characterized for operation from 0°C to 70°C.
