Widebus is a trademark of Texas Instruments Incorporated.
A FIFO memory is a storage device that allows data to be writteninto and read from its array at independent data rates. TheSN74ACT7801 is a 1024- × 18-bit FIFO for high speed and fastaccess times. It processes data at rates up to 40 MHz and accesstimes of 15 ns in a bit-parallel format. Data outputs arenoninverting with respect to the data inputs. Expansion is easilyaccomplished in both word width and word depth.
The SN74ACT7801 has normal input-bus-to-output-bus asynchronousoperation. The special enable circuitry adds the ability tosynchronize independent read and write (interrupts, requests) totheir respective system clock.
