Data Sheet Abstract

74ACT11623 OCTAL BUS TRANSCEIVER WITH 3-STATE OUTPUTS

SCAS059A - D2957, JULY 1987 - REVISED APRIL 1993

features

description

The 74ACT11623 is designed for asynchronous two-way communicationbetween data buses. The control function implementation allows formaximum flexibility in timing.

The device allows data transmission from the A bus to the B bus orfrom the B bus to the A bus depending upon the logic levels at theenable inputs (G\BA and GAB). The enable inputs can be used todisable the device so that the buses are effectively isolated.

The dual-enable configuration gives these devices the capabilityto store data by simultaneous enabling of G\BA and GAB. Each outputreinforces its input in this transceiver configuration. Thus, whenboth control inputs are enabled and all other data sources to the twosets of bus lines are at high impedance, both sets of bus lines (16in all) will remain at their last states. The 8-bit codes appearingon the two sets of buses will be identical for the 74ACT11623.

The 74ACT11623 is characterized for operation from - 40°C to85°C.
