PROPOSED METHOD OF ACCESSING IEEE 1149.1 SERIAL BUSES IN A BACKPLANE ENVIRONMENT

This document describes a new method of accessing IEEE 1149.1 based-boards in the backplane environment. The method can be used with a simple backplane to board connection or expanded to include the commandable features useful in the backplane environment. The document provides details on the addressable shadow port (ASP) and the shadow protocol that provide the means of connecting the backplane and board buses together.
