LOW-COST, LOW-POWER LEVEL SHIFTING IN MIXED-VOLTAGE SYSTEMS

Mixed 3.3-V and 5-V systems can be optimized for low power and low cost by the selection of an appropriate voltage-level shifter component. This document describes split-rail level shifters and 5-V tolerant or pure 3.3-V level shifters. The misconceptions about delta ICC are discussed along with the power savings commonly known as partial-power down.
