USING THE HIGH-SPEED, HIGH-DRIVE SN74ABT7819 FIFO

FIFO memories are used as high-speed data-stream buffers for maximizing throughput between buses having different data-transfer speeds. The increased processing speeds of microprocessors resulted in the demand for faster FIFOs that utilized the microprocessor capabilities. This document describes the TI SN74ABT7819, a 512 ´ 18 dual-port bi-directional clocked advanced FIFO with operating frequencies to 80 MHz, and its drive performance. An example is give for driving a VME backplane.
