ADVANCED BUS-MATCHING/BYTE-SWAPPING FOR INTERNETWORKING FIFO APPLICATIONS

Dynamically selecting the desired bus configuration and format is useful for systems such as network switches and routers that use 32-to 36-bits of data or 8- and 16-bit controllers and buses. The SN74ABT3613 FIFO provides a unidirectional data path with bus-matching and byte-swapping on Port B, while the SN74ABT3614 FIFO provides a bi-directional data path with bus-matching and byte-swapping in either direction. This document describes these features of the TI FIFOs. Both of these FIFOs provide advanced-clocked architecture in a space-saving single-chip solution.
