Digital Design Workshop
This 2 day workshop introduces you to the design considerations and the application of advanced logic circuits. When designing fast switching application the rules of transmission lines need to be applied to understand the behavior of integrated circuits and correct routing of the printed circuit boards. The intention of this workshop is overview the required theoretical background and teach practical and proven methods which enable the engineer to design reliable operating circuits and systems.
Who should attend
The workshop is specially designed for hardware design engineers who plan design fast digital circuits and systems such as personal computers, workstations, Digital Signal Processing equipment, communication equipment or related applications. This course also provides useful information for engineers in circuit and system test and similar tasks. Basic experience of digital circuit design is recommended.
What you will learn
You will learn how to analyze the characteristic of transmission circuits, how to built simple models for quick numerical or graphics analysis of the circuit behavior and how to a use more sophisticated simulation tools like Spice. Typical circuits are discussed like point-to-point interfaces, clock distribution networks, memory interfaces, and bus systems (from simple memory busses up to high speed backplane busses). During the course various exercises will be conducted by the students, and the results discussed in detail with expert demonstrations of the circuits under consideration. Beside this various other topics are addressed, for example printed circuits lay rules for digital, analog and mixed signal applications.
