TMS320C54x Fixed Point DSP Design Workshop
This is a workshop for hardware and software design engineers who plan to use the TMS320C54x in a DSP based-system. The focus is on the architecture and instruction set. Special attention is given to examining techniques for optimizing algorithms to take advantage of the architecture, buses, and special hardware features of the device. Numerous labs provide the student with practice in using the various addressing modes, implementing DSP algorithms and working with peripherals. The student will also learn to use the special hardware on this device such as the Veterbi accelerator and buffered serial port. Finally, a study is made of the special (hardware supported) instruction useful in implementing telecom standard algorithms.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop is specially designed for hardware or software design engineers who plan to be part of a C54x design project. Experience with digital technique and knowledge of assembly language is recommended.
