SPOX-DBUG
for TMS320C3x, TMS320C4x, TMS320C5x, TMS320C8x
by Spectron Microsystems
Software Overview
SPOX-DBUG is one of several portable components of the SPOX family of products that provide a
complete development environment for DSP application developers. SPOX-DBUG extends the
capabilities of the Texas Instruments powerful C Source debuggers, db30, emu40, db50, and mpemu.
SPOX-DBUG enhances the TI debuggers and makes them SPOX-aware with features that simplify the
development and debugging of real-time multi-tasking SPOX applications. By integrating with the
Texas Instruments C Source debuggers, the developer can debug SPOX applications in a familiar
environment with TI's embedded emulation tools. See also, SPOX-KNL, SPOX-MP, SPOX-MATH, and
SPOX-LINK for information on related tools for DSP software development.
Features and Benefits
• Supports interactive inspection and modification of any SPOX object (tasks, semaphores, streams,
arrays)
• Interactive invocation of SPOX-KNL system calls enables a developer to dynamically change the
flow of execution of their application
• Provides both task-specific and application-wide breakpoint setting
• TI's debugger provides a complete set of powerful non-intrusive debug capabilities
• Complements the instruction cycle of the TI debuggers by providing overall system performance
measurements
Processor and System Requirements
SPOX application programs are generated on a host computer system using version 4.6 of the C
compiler, assembler, and linker available from Texas Instruments. Some facility must be provided
for loading executable program images from your host computer on to your target hardware. Minimum
host system configurations are as follows:
• SPOX-KNL for PC-based systems:
386-compatible processor (or higher)
DOS version 5.0 (or higher)
4-MB memory
1.2-MB floppy drive
• SPOX-KNL for Sun-4 workstations
SunOS version 4.1 (or higher)
3.5-inch floppy drive
• Platforms supported
PC, Sun
• Devices supported
TMS320C3x, TMS320C4x, TMS320C5x, TMS320C8x
