Software Overview

Precise/MQX is a portable, royalty-free, real-time executive designed for single-processor 
embedded-DSP applications. Precise/MQX supports DSP applications with deterministic pre-emptive or 
round-robin scheduling, inter-task communication, user-configurable memory management, 
user-configurable functionality, and scaleable operation. Inter-task communication features 
include: asynchronous and synchronous message passing, message queues, events, semaphores, or 
mutexes.  Configurable functionality lets the user select only those functions that are necessary 
for an application. This minimizes ROM and RAM memory usage. Scaleable designs are supported 
because any application that uses Precise/MQX can be reconfigured for multiprocessor hardware 
simply by re-linking. Precise/MQX is ROMmable or it can be loaded via a comm port; and  is 
supported with test tools for task-level debugging and execution profiling. Precise/MQX can be 
extended by using the Precise Embedded I/O Components which support: TCP/IP, boot loading, MS-DOS 
File System, serial I/O, SDLC, HDLC, or LAPB.
