Software Overview

The codec software completely meets the H.320 recommendations. All modules needed are integrated as 
software modules. The main modules are:
Drivers and interfaces:	H.221
			H.242
			H.243  (1st half 96)
			H.230
			H.231  (1st half 96)
Video:		H.261
Audio:		G.711
			G.722
			G.728
The software operates as a multitasking system. The different tasks are attributed to the 
above-mentioned jobs and divided in receive and transmit direction. In addition to this, there are 
some interface tasks.
In order to make the H.320 software as flexible as possible, the various specifications under the 
H.320 umbrella have been implemented as separate tasks. Inter-task communication is performed using 
messages.
Due to the complete implementation of all H.320 recommendations and subordinate recommendations, 
the software of the codec is universally applicable, easy to modify, and adaptable to a multitude 
of uses and applications.
IAT offers the library as object or source.
