











G.726 ADPCM

Software Overview
The HotHaus G.726 ADPCM software module provides for 40-kbps and 32-kbps encoding and decoding of
8-KHz speech signals, and also includes the G.721 ADPCM. It is available standalone or as a service
for the HausWare media player.
A well written and thorough Technical Reference Manual is available describing the G.726 ADPCM and
how to interface to it via C or assembly. Example C and
Psuedocode are included in the manual.
All HotHaus software modules are all designed to operate with minimal MIPS and memory. G.726 ADPCM
has been written entirely in assembly.

• Uses less than 8 MIPS and 1.5K Words of ROM
• Fully re-entrant, each extra port requires only small additional RAM space
• 4 KHz of audio bandwidth

Runs on Texas Instruments TMS320C5x family of DSPs.

Immediately on 'C5x. Can easily be ported to 'C2xx and other TI fixed-point DSPs.
