GAO ITU Group 3 Fax
by GAO Research & Consulting Ltd.
Software Overview
GAO ITU Group 3 Fax Modem implements the Group 3 fax standard. The Group 3 fax standard is for
facsimile transmission over the general telephone network. It defines how the facsimile apparatus
should communicate with each other and how the apparatus should exchange data, for example, images,
characters, etc. The group 3 standard is composed of six ITU recommendations: V.17, V.21, V.27ter,
V.29, T.4, and T.30. All, except T.4 have been implemented. T.4 typically runs on a host processor.
