Because the processor cycle time for the C6x is 5 nanoseconds and the processor cycle time for the C5x is 20 nanoseconds, we see an even more dramatic shift when we look at benchmarks in terms of time.
For instance, the last benchmark shown, the 256-point FFT, takes 418.14 microseconds for a C5x DSP, while the C6x completes it’s task in 20.84 microseconds, or twenty times faster.
