This section discusses the debug tools specifically, and first focuses on the simulator. The simulator is available both in DOS and in UNIX versions. The DOS version can be invoked from a DOS window or as a Windows PC program as well. The UNIX versions look a lot like the PC Windows versions.

It's important to note that this is a state accurate simulator. This means it has been built from the same database that the devices have been built from. So when simulating a device, its exactly as if it were real hardware. When you take code written for the simulator and move it to a target board, it operates exactly the same way.
