The C54x is a high performance architecture with several unique features, a lot of improved peripherals over previous families, and a lot of performance and memory improvements as well.
TI offers a full suite of software and hardware development. There is a software simulator for testing and debugging code, an EVM for running code or parts of our algorithm on an actual DSP, the XDS510s in both PC and UNIX workstation varieties, and the DSKplus , which is a low-cost entry into the hardware debugging environment. There are also several third parties that offer a multitude of hardware and software development tools.
The assembler is available in two forms, both in algebraic and a mnemonic format, also on both UNIX platforms and PC platforms.
