Notes:
The C54x has four primary internal buses, the program bus, dual input data buses, and an output write bus. This enables multiple operand operations with a single instruction, reducing the number of instructions required to complete an operation.
The C54x has a strong peripheral offering, including buffered serial ports which increase the performance of the DSP by allowing it to load the data directly into memory. This frees the processor to perform other tasks while the data is loading, and operate on the data when it is available.
