"More importantly, it strengthens the existing relationship-a collaboration that has already benefited both partners and will continue to contribute to their mutual success."
As a result of the donation from TI, Rice will be filling faculty positions that will enhance its research efforts in the areas of telecommunications and other related signal-processing applications, including applied mathematics, with an emphasis on digital wireless communication.
"There is an insatiable demand around the world for a workforce skilled in the development of advanced SC technology, such as digital signal processing solutions," said Tom Engibous, TI executive vice- president and president of the semiconductor group. "TI is committed to developing this workforce through higher education in these key SC technologies."
