TI has released the TLC5510INSLE, an 8-bit, 20-MSPS A/D converter that provides a combination of high speed, low power, and low price. By implementing a CMOS, multi-stage, semi-flash architecture, the TLC5510 provides significantly lower power consumption and cost.
The cost/performance combination of the TLC5510 makes this part suitable for a wide variety of applications such as videoconferencing, CCD scanners, and digital video.
This part is designed to be easily interfaced to a DSP. The 8-bit parallel data outputs are capable of high-impedance mode. An internal resistor network is provided to generate a 2-V reference from +5-V supply and only a conversion clock must be supplied. The TLC5510 consumes 90 mW of power, requires only +5-V supply, has an internal S/H and is provided in a 24-pin surface mount package and is specified for operation from -20°C to 75°C. Suggested resale is US $2.78 in 1,000-piece quantities.
